CofeOMAXDEL, Monday. •The.-monthly .meeting of tile Coromaudel County Council was held to-day. Present: Messrs. Swindle? (chairman), Harrison, Hornibrook, Daldy, Bryce, and Carroll.

Correspibadenee was received from George Mayn re payment for prospecting subsidy at the jMahakine. It was decided to reply that unless the full distance is finished the Government will not pay anything. From the Thames Borough anil the Thames County Council re fire prevention and support Of fire ■brigade. From the Mines Department, agreeing to £40 of the Whitiariga-GlimtoWtt Road grant being spent on metalling the GumtownKaimaraiMa Road, two men to be- employed for ono week repairing the Otec Bridge and Gumtowii Road. From the Minister for Mines, asking how reads damaged by flood were being repaired. 'Decided to reply that repairs are being attended to by parties on day wages out of grants. The county solicitor wrote stating that prospecting aid could not be paid to the Golden Spark mine nor 1 the.Harbour View mine.
