During the afternoon a presentation was made to Mr. C. B. S. Gillies, to mark the club's appreciation of his services as lion, secretary, extending over a period of 10 rears. The presentation was made oy Mr. M. A. Clark, one of the Vice-presidents, who referred to the invaluable assistance given by Mr. Gillies both in the inception and later working of -the' club,' and voiced the general regret at his being now compelled to lay down his office. Mr. Gillies suitably responded, thanking the club for its expression of esteem.
