The finals for the men's doubles anil combined matches in connection with the Whangarei tournament were played on Saturday afternoon on the North Shore courts, with the following results: — "Men's Doubles:" Messrs. Warner and Best (Devonport) beat Messrs. Angus and McCoy (West End) after a very exciting finish,.the games being 4—6, 6—4, 7—5. At five all in tho final set Warner got in some very telling strokes, which largely led to the defeat of the West End pair. Combined Match: In this event Miss Coates (Mount Eden) and Mr. J. Pater son (West End) beat Miss Harvey and Mr. J. Redman (North Shore) rather easily, 64, 6—l. In the first sot play was very even till four all was called, but Taterson's effective net work won the next two games. In the second set his volleying and smashing was very accurate, while Miss Coates' drives across the court largely contributed to their victorV. Ladies' Doubles: The ladies' doubles match was played on the West End courts on Friday afternoon, when Mrs. Cooper and Miss Harvey (North Shore), owing 154, defeated Misses Cooke and (iorrie (Mount Eden), scratch, 4—6, 6—3, 6—o. In the first set the North Shore ladies were unsteady, but getting warmed to their work won the following sets in fine style. These matches conclude one of the most successful and enjoyable tournaments that has, taken place in the Auckland province.

The Otago Lawn Tennis Association's annual tournament was concluded on Saturday afternoon in fine weather. The semi-final of til© men's handicap singles, first-grade, was won by E. Salmond, who beat G. C. White, 9—{3. The finals were won as follows : —Ladies' championship singles: Miss Campbell beat Miss Marks, 9—4.. Men's championship doubles: E. Salmond and G. C. White beat 8. X. and R. S. Brown, 6—2, 6—3. Men's handicap doubles: S. N. Brown and Gruar (owe 1-6 15) beat E. Salmond and J. Sinclair (owe 30 3-6), 9—B. Men's handicap singles: E. Salmond (owes 30 3-6) beat N. Brown (owes 15), 9—6.
