In returning thanks for his election as lion, treasurer of the English Bowling Association in London recently, Mr. Stephen Fortesquc said that, owing to a contemplated tour to inspect the bowling greeus of Australasia, he had some diffidence about accepting the office, and he added that although his endeavours to raise a team to visit Australia and New Zealand, had not been successful, he did not altogether despair of having soma good bowlei or bowlers to accompany him.
