WEDDINGS.

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Peter's Church, Bombay, on Wednesday, March 30, when Mr. C. H. Newsou, eldest son of Mr. C. Newson, builder and contractor, was married to Miss A. Cornthwaite, fourth daughter of Mr. W. Ivnowles Cornthwaite, of Bombay, by the Rev. F. B. Dobson. The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion ,by young lady members of the choir, a very pretty wedding bell of white flowers hanging in front of the chancel. The bride, who looked charming, wore a very handsome dress of white Persian lawn insertion and lace, and the customary wreath and veil, was given away by her father. The bridesmaids, Miss Cissy Cornthwaite and Mm Mackenzie, sister and cousin of the bride, wore very pretty cream dresses, with black hats with cream roses. The bride and bridesmaids each carried very pretty shower bouquets. The groomsmen were Mr. A. Newson and Mr. T., Cornthwaite, brothers of the bride and bridegroom. The church was full of friends and well wishers, the happy pair having tc run the gauntlet of showers of rice from the church door to the buggy. The bride was the recipient of many valuable and usetui presents, amongst them being a very handsome silver teapot, sugar basin, cream jug, and oak tray from the choir and parishioners of St. Peter's Church. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Nowson left for their future home, Wairamarama. *

A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. James' Presbyterian Church, Thames, on Easter Monday, the contracting parties being Mr. W. J. Turner, eldest son of Mr. H. Turner, of Coromandel, and Miss Emma Ross, second daughter of Mr. George Ross, Thames. The Rev. A. T. Thompson officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, was very becomingly attired in white silk, elaborately trimmed with Paris lace and insertion, the skirt being of apron design, arranged over flounces of silk. She also wore a beautiful Brussels net veil, falling over a coronet- sof orange blossoms, and carried a lovely shower bouquet. There were four bridesmaids in attendance. Mr. George Ross, jun., .the bride's brother, -cted as best man. After the ceremony an afternoon tea was given in St. James' Hall, at which a large number of-guests were entertained by the bride's 'parents. The presents were numerous and valuable. " .
