A SPORTSMAN MISSING.

[«? TELEGRAPH.— CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington-, Sunday. No news has vet been received in Wellington of Mr. J. C. Andrew, who has been lost in the bush at Martinborough since Tuesday last. The Whatarangi Station, on which be was deer-stalking, is a property of about 30,000 acres, extending from the neighbourhood of Martinborough right down to Cape Palliser. and is in places, of the roughest description. Mr. Andrew is a member of the legal firm of Hamertoii and Andrew, and a sou of the Rev. J. C. Andrew, of lea Station, Wairarapa. He is a prominent member of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, and is well known as one of the keenest sportsmen in the province. He is an excellent shot, noted for his untiring energy in the pursuit of game, and those who know bin; do not consider that he is likely to have got "bushed," or to have lost hi: way even in the wild country that is to be met with on the Whatarangi Station. Search parties ace out looking for him. It is understood that Mr. Andrew was carrying a double-barrelled rifle, and as he took plenty of provisions with him from Wellington, the supposition is that h; took a supply with him when he left Martinborougb on his deerstalking expedition on Tuesday. [BY TELKGBAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Saturday. Fourteen members of the Permanent Artillery left for Featherston by special train one p.m. to-day to assist in the search for Mr Andrew^
