IMPORTANT JUDGMENT.

New York, March 15. The Supreme Court of the United States upheld the judgment of Judge Thayer, of the Circuit Court of Minnesota, in regard to the Northern Securities Company's case concerning its control over the Great Northem and Northern Pacific Railway Corporation. Five justices concurred in the decision of the Court below, while four, including the Chief Justice, dissented. The decision sustains President Roosevelt's contention that the Sherman and Gust law prohibits ' the merger of railroads, with the intention of preventing competition. In London the Northern Securities' scrip was dealt with at 86f,". and afterwards at 89^.
