Mr. Horace Hunt presided at the usual fortnightly meeting of the Northcote AthenKura, held in the Bay View Hall on Thursday night. The evening was devoted to a debate on "Is the age of chivalry passed," Mr. H. W. Wilding taking the' affirmative, and Mr. Arnold Harrison the negative. Messrs. E. M. Harrison, Bruce Lloyd, A. Waterworth, B. Herapnth, Evans, E. W. Page, and E. Hardie also took part in the discussion. A vote resulted in a majority for the affirmative side. Miss Straughan played a pianoforte solo. The Dramatic Committee have decided to tender a benefit entertainment to Mr. J. Matthie, who sustained a loss this week by his 'bus being blown over the cliff. News of the new!!
