Admiral Faasshavro states that the conference was held with Admiral Sir Cyprian Bridge, commanding the China station, and Rear-Admiral Atkinson Willis, commanding the East India station, at Aguilla Johore, 18 miles from Singapore. He could say nothing with regard to the conference, but sstid that there was no disquieting symptom' with regard to the Eastern question. Everything was very quiet.

Melbourne, October 23. , The Mount Lyell returns from September 17 to October 14 show that 26,735 tons of ore were treated, in addition to which 1263 tons of purchased ore had been handled. The converters produced 602 tens of blister copper, containing—copper 536 tons, silver 54,4840z, and. gold 16950z.
