London, October Lord Jersey, acting-A gent-General for New South Wales, in, the course of an interview, while not claiming that the New South Wales financial policy was altogether wise in part, emphasised the proneness of critics to exaggerate the Government's extravagance. While the development of works was in progress it was difficult to achieve financial equilibrium. Sixty out of the 80 millions' debt would soon be reproductive, and not only pay interest, but gradually extinguish the principal and yield a surplus.
