THE PAEROA RAILWAY.
TO BE FINISHED IN TWO YEARS. [BZ TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington Friday. The Government lias accepted the offer made by Mr. Seymour Thome George to find the money for the completion of the Paeroa-Waihi railway. Mr. George is understood to be acting oh behalf of the Waihi Gold Mining Company 2 and the terms arranged are that the- money will be lent to the Government at interest for the specific purpose of completing this railway all the way from Paeroa to- Waihi, the work to be finished within two years. The sum to be lent to the Government is understood to be about £75,000. As: the money is being lent specially for the Paeroa-Waihi railway, the Government will probably bring down a Bill to secure tho authority of Parliament for the loan, so that the large sum, which will thus be devoted to this line, will really have the effect of leaving more money available for other lines of railway, as there will be no call made oh the ordinary loan money in respect of the Paeroa-Waihi railway.
