Bishop Le.yjhak was a passenger to Wellington by the Rotoiti yesterday.
Mr. Austin Walsh, who left for the Islands by the Manapouri, on Wednesday, is the managing director of Austin Walsh Company' Limited.
Mr. J. Breen, formerly purser of the Penguin, has been transferred to the Warrimoo, Mr. F. Bill, of the latter vessel, going to the Penguin.
Captain Julian Hasier. who organised a corps of Australian scouts during the Transvaal War. is now a major in command of one of i.f Haussa regiments in Nigeria.Mr. J. T. Julian, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, arrived in Wellington last night in connection with the Board's request for permission tc lease Admiralty House.
Sir Julian Salomons, K.C., of Sydney, is a passenger to San Francisco •by the mail steamer Sonoma, which leaves Auckland to-day. Sir Julian is on a pleasure trip u> California.
*'A number of changes are taking place among the local constabulary. Constable Goodson, of Avondale, has been transferred to Auckland for watch-house duty; Constable O'Grady has been transferred from Waiuku to Avondale ; Constable Moffitt has been transferred from Karangahake to Waiuku; and Constable Bevan° has been transferred from Parnell to Karangahake.
