Wellington', Thursday. The statement of receipts and expenditure of the Consolidated Fund for the quarter ending September 30 is published in tonight's Gazette. This shows that the balance at the end of last. quarter (less Treasury bills outstanding £800,000) amounted to £47,945. The ordinary revenue during the quarter yielded £1,570,497, the leading sources of income being—Customs, £693,520 ; railways, £502,928; stamps, £241,774* Territorial revenue amounted to £81,885, and recoveries on account of expenditure of previous quarters to £14,372. The total receipts were £1,714,251. On the expenditure side of the account permanent appropriations absorbed £357,425. Included in this sum are interest and sinking fund, £165,917, and old age. pensions £55,696. Payments on annual appropriations amounted" to £912,382. The cash in the public account at the end of the quarter was £579.607, and the quarter ended with a net available balance of £444,443...
