The mail steamer Sonoma is due from Sydney this morning, and after undergoing this usual-medical and Customs inspection- will berth at the Queen-street Wharf.. T" fl steamer has a fair number of passengers »5 Auckland and, for through ports. ?* cargo to be shipped at Auckland consists of a large number of bales of flax and lines of grass-seed, pells, etc. The Sonomai » timed to leave for Island ports and baa Francisco at three 'o'clock this afternoon, and is due at the Caiiforuian port on November 9, and her mails should reach W don on November 21. .. ~ The Sierra, with the British mails vflica left London on September 26, is due_?* Auckland from San Francisco on luesaaj next, but it is Diobable that the steamer j will anticipate her contract time by a namI ber of hours.
