THE LATE CONSTABLE JOHNSTON.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—- ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Saturday. At the inquest concerning the death of Constable Johnston, who shot himself yesterday, the evidence showed that the deceased had suffered acutely from indigestion, but had never given the least sign that he intended to take his life. A verdict of suicide while temporarily deranged was returned, the jury expressing sympathy with deceased's relatives, who live in Auckland.
