THE GOLD RETURNS.

TOTAL FOR THREE WEEKS, £68,111. HALF-YEAR'S TOTAL, £450,554 19s su. LARGE INCREASE • OVER LAST YEAR, • . The gold returns from the Auckland district for the past three weeks have reached a total of £68,111 '0s sd, which shows a slight decrease compared with the total for the previous three weeks, owing to one or two important returns not being yet to hand. Exclusive of the latter, the gross output for the first six months of the year amounts to £450,554 19s sd. The total yield ,'foi the first half of, last year was £365,724 12s lOd, ; compared with which the yield for the present half-year shows an increase of no leas than £84,830 6s 7d. During the four weeks ending June 20 the Waihi Gold Mining Company, Limited, crushed and treated 17,944 tons of ore for a return of bullion valued at £51,336. Moore and party, trlbutcrs in the Old Hauraki Gold Mining Company's mine, have crushed five tons of ore and loflb of picked stone, for the excellent return of -138oi; 7dwt of bullion, valued at £419 13s 2d. The tribute, together, with three others in the mine, expired yester- | day, and only two small blocks in the | mine are now in the hands of tributers. VICTORIA G.M. CO. Percy and party, tributers in the T'ookfiy section of the Victoria Gold Mining Company's mine/ have completed a crushing of one' load of general dirt and 301b of picked stone, for a yield of 18oz lOdwt of melted gold, valued at £51 2s Id..

TALISMAN CONSOLIDATED G.M. CO. RECORD RETURN. • £7518 FROM 3850 TONS. TOTAL TO DATE, £182,601. During June the Talisman Consolidated Gold Mining Company crashed and treated 3850 tons of ore for a return of Bullion valued at. £7518 or £1 19s per ton. This is a record for all similar periods,. the next highest monthly output being that of February last, when 3650 tons yielded £7500. The working expenses for last month, including mine development, were equivalent to £1 9s per ton. The company now have the full 50 head of stamps employed, and it is anticipated that the standard set by the present return will bo maintained in future. A 'crushing has just been completed by Messrs. Hunter and party from the Welcome Jack mine, at Ouintown, for a yield of 220z 9dwt of bullion, valued at £48*15s Id/ WAIOTAHI G.M. CO. The Waiotahi Gold Mining Company's usual monthly clean-up resulted in the payable return of 114oz sdwt of melted gold, for which 70 tons of ore were crushed. The approximate value of the return is about ; £315. ...;, . ' KURANUI-CALEDONIAN TRIBUTERS. The Kuranui-Caledonian tributers crashed 62£ tons of, general ore and 421b of picked stone during I lie month of June for a return of 112oz l4dwt of melted gold, valued at £306 15s 3d. ■[ MO ANAT AIARI TIUBUTEKS. I The tributers at work in the Moauai taiari mine crushed 76£ tons of general, ore during June, for a return of 87oz lOdwt of melted gold, valued at £235 13s |6d. '. '■ j MAY QUEEN TRIBUTERS. During June the tributers in the May Queen mine only crushed 7£ tons of ore, from which Boz 2dwt of melted gold were obtained, valued at £23 3s sd. TEMPLE BAR CLAIM. Campbell and party have completed a crushing of two loads of ore for a return of 31oz of gold, valued at £84 10s. WAITAIA G.M. CO. The Waitaia Gold Mining : Company (Kuaotunu) have completed a crushing of 44 tons of general ore for a yield by ordi- j nary battery process of 51£oz of bullion, ; valued at about £155. "' « BAY VIEW TRIBUTERS. The Buy View tributers (Messrs, Daldy and Verry) have completed a crushing of 20 tons of general dirt, for a return of 430z 17dwt of melted bullion, valued at £123 6s 6d. ROYAL OAK TRIBUTERS. The. Royal Oak tributers (Messrs. McGregor and party) crushed 681b of picked stone for a return of 256z of melted bullion, valued "approximately at £69. : . " KAPOWAI G.M. CO. The Kapowai Gold Mining Company (Gumtown) have crushed 90 tons "of ore for a return of 750z Bdwt of bullion, valued approximately at £177 ss. . . TANDEM G.M. CO. The Tandem '• Gold Mining Company have crushed at the New Four-in-Hand battery two tons of general ore and 401b of stone, for a return of 550z 9dwt of melted gold, valued at.£ls7 2s. WAITAIA G.M. CO. The -Waitaia Gold Mining Company (Kuaotunu) completed • the treatment by cyanide process only of a parcel of tailings, for a return of 960z lldwt melted gold, valued at £183 Os 9d. MONOWAI GOLD MINES. During the month of May' this company treated 155 tons of- sands by the cyanide process for a return of bullion valued at : £229,4s lOd. NEW FOUR-IN-HAND G.M. CO. The New Four-in-Hand * Gold Mining Company have banked bullion valued at : £86, the result of a crashing from 301b of picked stone broken from the Tainui leader.
