THE SAN FRANCISCO MAIL.

RECORD VOYAGE OF THE VENTURA, The mail steamer Ventura arrived from Sail Francisco, Honolulu, and Pago Pago somewhat unexpectedly shortly after twelve o'clock last night, having made the record trip between the Californian port and Auckland. The Ventura having left San Francisco twelve hours after contract time, sho was not due at this port until late to-mor-row night; but the steamer made such « speedy trip that she has landed her mails nearly two clays ahead of time, a record on which Captain Hay ward, Chief Engineer Haines, and all on board are to be cordially congratulated. The Ventura's steaming time from San Francisco: 15 days 4 hours 35 minutes actual time, 16 days 27 minutes. From Honolulu : Steaming time,. 9 days 19 hours 2 minutes actual time, 10 day/l hour 15 minutes. From Pago Pagoil Actual time, 3 days 23 hours 7 minutes. The Ventura has 51 passengers in all classes for Auckland and Australia, ma aw cargo includes the usual lines of American merchandise. The mails brought by the steamer were of the following dates: London, May 25, xsew York, May 30; San Francisco, June *,; Honolulu, June 10; Samoa, June 17. The s.s. Wainui with the Southern portion of the mails will leave Ouehunga for i*ew Plymouth and Wellington this morning. - The Ventura resumes her voyage to Sydney this afternoon.
