TRAMYWAY FARES.
The adjourned meeting of representatives from various local bodies was held on Wednesday evening in the Newmarket Council Chambers. Present: Messrs. McColl, Burton, Rishworth, Holmes, Leek, Morton, Johnston and Bagley. Mr. Morton occupied the chair. It was resolved, "That the chairman write to Mr. Hansen thanking him for his promise to start the first tram from the Royal Oak at a-quartei to seven a.m. as soon as the Epsom car barn; is opened, so as to connect with the early train to Helensville." It was also resolved, "That Mr. Hansen be invited to attend a meeting of the representatives of the local bodies to be held at the Newmarket Council Chambers on Friday evening next at half-past seven p.m., in order to discuss with him the following:—(a) The issue ol season tickets; (e) the issuing of family 50trip tickets; (c) the issue of school children's tickets; (D) the issue of apprentices' tickets ; and (e) a reduction in the price of workers' tickets. Schedule of proposed charges:—(l) The issue of season tickets as follows, with permission to travel a3 often per day as desired—Rate from Onehunga, £(> 10s, or quarterly £1 15s; rate from Mount Roskill, One-tree Hill or Epsom, £6, or quarterly £1 10s. (2) The issue of 50-trip family tickets from Greenwood's corner, One-fcreo Hill and Epsom to Auckland, at the rate of s£d return ; the issue of 50-trip family tickets from; Royal Oak to Auckland, at the rate of 7d return. (3) The issue of tickets to bona-fid® school children at the same rate as heretofore by horse tram, namely, 15s per term from Onehunga and any intervening point to Auckland and to and from points between and vioc versa. The issue of tickets to apprentices at half-price. The reduction in the price of workers' tickets as follows: — From Mount Roskill, One-tree Hill and Epsom, to 2s 6d per week: from Onehunga, to 3s per week; that the half-price to children be accepted as promised; and that a copy of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Hansen.
