After the "wreck of the EHngamite Messrs. L. D. Nathan and Co.. the local agents of the Hud dart-Parker Proprietary, Limited, issued orders to all the people from the wreck for clothing, board and lodging, amounting to £900. for which a. claim was made 011 the Relief Committee. The committee have now received a lett-ei from the local agents, intimating that thenprincipals did not desire any refund which would curtail proper allowances to widows, and that 011 that account their principals had instructed them to accept £55uu m full settlement of the claim.
