THE GOLDFIELDS.

BUNKER'S HILL G.M. GO.

The manager of the Bunker's Hill Gold Mining Company reports as follows : —The drive at the No. 1 level lias been holed through to the stopes, and the continuation will be carried through to form No. 1 level, from which the ground overhead will in future be worked. When breaking down prior to holing through the lode, the reef here (which is 6in in thickness) became more compact, and 10lb of specimen stone were secured. All the reef standing in the intermediate level has been broken down to the break, and the leading stope is well in hand. The quartz from both these faces is of good quality, and has shown gold. The break mentioned in the last report is underlying about one in four into our ground, and seeing the short distance we have to go to reach our northern boundary, it is unnecessary at present to do any further work in this quarter. The men from No. 8 stope have been removed to No. 2 stope, above the intermediate level. Two men have commenced to drive on the leader at No. 2 level, in which gold was seen when making the connection with the intermediate level. The pumping machinery is working well, and has reduced the water 3ft for the week. SOUTHERN MINING. [BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Greymouth, Monday.
