DEATH OF MAX O'RELL.

By Telegraph.— Association.— (Received May 26, 12.55 a.m.) London, May 25. Max O'Eell, the famous author, is dead, aged 55.

Max O'Rell (Paul Blouet) was wounded in the Franco-German war, and made pri«oner at Sedan. He subseQuently went to England as a journalist, and stayed to teach French at St. Paul's School. He wrote " John Bull and His Island," and other well-known books. He afterwards took to the lecture stage, and lectured extensively in Great Britain, America, and the Australasian colonies. A short time ago it was announced that he had takeD un his residence in Paris, and was devoting himself to journalistic work.
