Tlie Union Company's steamer Ovalati, Captain Clift, arrived from Qamaru and Timara at 11 p.m. on Saturday with a cargo of grain, produce, stone, etc. The Ovalau proceeds on to Sydney to-morrow evening;, where Bbe will be handed over to her new owners Messrs. Burns, Philp, and Co., who have purchased the steamt-r for the Queensland trade. .

TUB HERALD. The "Union Company's steamer Herald, Gaptain A. V. Clirisp, arrived from Westport, Wellington, and East Coast ports at 11.15 a.m. yesterday, berthing at the Queen-street Wharf. " Mr. A. Murdoch, the purser, reports that, the steamer left Westport at noon on the 15th inst., and called at Wellington. Napier, and Gisborne. Left the latter port at 8.30 a.m. on the 21' st, and called at the usual const bays, arriving as above. The Herald leaves for East Coast ports to-morrow afternoon.

TRANSHIPMENTS. The s.s. Westralia, which arrived from Sydney last night, brought a Quantity of transhipments. per P. and O. steamer from London; Norddeutscher-Lloyd and German-Aus-tralian steamers, from the Continent; Yawata, Mara, from China ; and Fortnnatus, from Calcutta.

THE WESTRALIA. The Jlnddart-Parker steamer Westralia, Captain J. B. Rainey, arrived from Sydney at half-past eleven o'clock last night, and anchored in the stream to await medical and Customs inspection, which will be carried out at seven o'clock this morning, and on completion of which the steamer will berth at the Queen-street Wharf. Mr. F. Chambers, the purser, reports that the Westralia left Sydney at 4.15 p.m. on Wednesday last, passing the Heads at 5.15 p.m.; passed Cape Maria Van Diemen at 7.30 a.m., and Cape Brett at. 3.17 p.m. yesterday, arriving as above. Experienced strong northerly gale, high seas, with showery and squally weather, till Saturday rooming; thence fresh westerly and south-westerly winds and moderate seas to arrival.
