TOO MANY HOLIDAYS.

TO THE EDITOIt. Sir,—On behalf of my union may I enter a protest against the multiplication of holidays which appears to be epidemic just now. We are not one whit less loyal to the Empire than our fellows, but next Wednesday week is the birthday of the Prince of Wales, a compulsory holiday under the Arbitration Court award, and to have Empire Day declared a holiday for the previous week appears to us to be an unnecessary interference with the course' of business, and likely to cause public inconvenience.
