London, May 15. Colonel Montanar's expedition, sent to punish the Alis, a caunibal tribe in Southern Nigeria, for an unprovoked attack upon the district commissioner, had three weeks' stubhorn fighting. The Aiis lost heavily. The British casualties numbered 11.
