The ordinary monthly meeting of r the Liberal and Labour Federation of New Zealand (Auckland branch) took place in the Oddfellows' Hall, Cook-street, last evening. The chairman (Mr. P. J. Nerheny), in his opening remarks?, said that the federation was to be congratulated on the success they had achieved at the late municipfi elections. Practically speaking, they had returned two members out of every three. Mr. Beehan also congratulated the federation on their success. Messrs. Glover and Patterson also congratulated the federation and thanked them for the support they had accorded thorn at the elections. Letters were read from the town clerk re city by-laws. A telegram which had been sent to the chairman of the Wellington Demonstration Committee by the president and secretary, congratulating Mr. Setldon on the completion of bis 10 years' term as Premier of the colony, was approved. The nomination of officers was then proceeded with. The president (Mr. Nerheny), vice-president (Mr. W. Gulliver), secretary (Mr. T. H. Giles), and treasurer (Mr. Kitchens) were all nominated for reelection. Messrs. McVeagh and Gulliver were nominated as auditors. For the Executive Council the following were nominated: —Liberal': Messrs. R. McVeagh, T. Grcsham, A. E. Glover, W. Regan, W. A. Thompson, E. W. Page, E. Kelly, W. Beehan, J. J. Jenkins, and James McGce. Labour: Messrs. J. McMahon, C. Grant, R. "Webster, John Patterson, C. Berringer, M. J. Sheahan, Jos. Molloy, Black, F. Gordon, and J. Ilealey. Mr. Morgan gave notice to move at the next meeting, " That a new office be created—that of assistant-secretary." This concluded the meeting.
