TO THE EDITOR. _ To-day "A.V.C." has given us a "comedy of errors" stuffed with sophistry. He claims unity between Rome, Grecias and England. Nothing could have been said further away from truth of fact. Rome has boon at daggers drawn with Greens on religion for some centuries. And it is onlyfour or five years ago that the Pope repeated his excommunication of England, to the utter dismay of the ceremonial "churchmen" of Henry VIII. tribe. What "A.V.C." says about 300 seots is fatuous. Why, there are more like 300,000 sects in Christendom; the so-called Church of England has over 10,000. But with his meaning of the term there are less than a half of one. hundred. Does he know of as many as 25 ? He says baptism with water by a human "priest" saves. Jesus, the only ordained Priest, who "ever liveth." baptises with the Holy Spirit and with (spiritual) fire; on this point the Quakers are right. Saul of Tarsus was vvondrously converted from being a fanatical High Church ceremonial ritualist to a humble, yet fervent, despised dissenter from the State religion, and so got into gao> for it. There is " conversion" for you. —I am, etc., W.E.S. Ponsonby, May 11, 1903.
