THE A.--RECORD STEAMING. The mail steamer Sierra, Captain H. G. liondlette. arrived from San Francisco. Honolulu and Pago Pago yesterday morning, the steamer having: anticipated her due dat« by fullv 55 hours. On the run from Honolulu to Pago Pago the steamer put- up a record of 5 days 21 hours, which is the fastest time ever mad© between the two ports. Of the voyage. Mr. N. C. THE ZEALANDIA. The Hnddart'Parker steame; Zealand in, which arrived from Sydney early yesterday morning, was visited and inspected by the health and Customs authorities after daylight, and being granted pratique, berthed at tho Queen-street Wharf. The purser reports that the steamer left Sydney at 5 p.m.. and cleared Port Jackson Heads at 5.30 p.m. oil Wednesday last; rounded the North Cape at 10.5 a.m. on Sunday, and arrived at 12.50 a.m. yesterday. A strong northeast gale, with high sea and squally weather, prevailed until noon of the Bth; followed by moderate north-east winds to the North Cape; thence fresh southerly winds and dull, showery, weather to arrival. The Zealand leaves for East Coast and Southern ports this afternoon.

WARNING TO SHIPPING. Mr. A. Rose. Collector of Customs, yesterday received the following telegram from Russell: —" Captain Subritssky - . of the auxiliary schooner Greyhomnd, which has arrived at Russell, reports having passed a very large kauri log l yesterday, about four miles south-east of Sail Rock, and drifting in the direction of Point Rodney.
