Our Waitekauri correspondent writes : — Afc the conclusion of the Sunday-school work last Sunday, Mr. Cockbum, on behalf of the school and staff, presented Miss Alice Noakes, who is shortly to be married to the' Rev. W. B. Scott, with a lovely set of silver-mounted carvers with ivory handles, as a token of the esteem in which she is held, and as an appreciation of her work in connection with the children during the past three years. The superintendent, on behalf of the school, wished Miss Noakes all success and happiness in her new sphere of labour 7a Canterbury, and regretted the loss that Waitekauri would sustain. . Mr. Bemhard Ringrose Wise. State Attor-ney-General for New South Wales, is one of the most scholarly men in Australian politics. In his youth he had the reputation of an Admirable Crichton.
