THAMES HARBOUR BOARD,
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames. Tuesday. • At a meeting of the Harbour Board this evening a letter was received from Mr. Chas. Hanson, manager of the Northern Steamship Company, stating that his company intends concentrating its office work at Thames, and with tlili* object in view it requested the Board to grant it increased accommodation for such purposes on the Goods Wharf. The Board decided to comply with the request by adding an additional'2oft to the present shed erected at the end of the wharf, in order to provide the requires office accommodation, and to charge an additional £10 per annum for the rental of the wlfole building. The treasuier (Mr. A. Bruce) submitted the annual balance-sheet of the Board for the year ending December 31 last, which showed that the total receipts for the year, including a balance brought forward of £1581 12s sd, amounted to £3125 13s 9d, whilst (he expenditure had been £2180 14s 3d, thus leaving a credit balance of £944 "1.93 6d. The total value of assets and estimated assats was set down as being £33,837 5s 2d, and the total liabilities, including a loan of £10,000 from the PostmasterGeaeral, at £10,043 13s, thus leaving a "balance in favour of the Board of £23,793 12s 2d. The balance-sheet was adopted, the opinion being expressed that it was a very satisfactory one, and a vote of thanks was accorded to the officers for the great interest they had taken in the Board's affairs during the past year.. The liar' aurmaster reported that during the month of March- he had collected revenue amounting to £233 8s Bd, made up as follows:— age, £61 13s lOd; port charges, £18 3s 4d;' rent, £128 17s 6d; water, £5 Gs; cab tolls, 15s; pilotage, £18 13s.
