Weekly News contains an unusually in- ! teresting variety of high-class illustrations. i The Premier's journey along the route of the Taranaki-Auckland railway from Stratford to Whaugamomona is admirably depicted, as is his river voyage in canoe and launch to Wanganui. The swimming meeting at the Auckland Graving Dock is represented as only modern illustrated journalism can represent such events, for besides the description of the record-breaking contests, there are pictures showing the principal races in actual progress, and the exciting finishes. New Zealand's great dairying industry is represented by a number of the best-known. Taranaki milking herds and dairy farms. Holiday scenes at Rotorua give some idea, of the preparations being "made by the Maoris for the entertainment of visitors to their unique and interesting district. The Townsville hurricane, which almost destroyed that well-known Queensland centre, and caused much loss of life, is depicted by a series of photographs specially taken of the principal buildings damaged, and nothing could better show the force of that terrible storm than the illustrations of the wrecked buildings. There are quite a large number of specially interesting miscellaneous pictures, including rural and industrial views, and among the groups and portraits are many which will specially appeal to the New Zealand public. The Weekly News is now issued, and can be obtained from all agents and runners. Parties requiring vehicles will find a large assortment of all classes, both now ana second-hand, in the largo premises, corner of Vulcan Lane and O'Connell-street, just opened by Mr. W. J. Bbylarl.
