CHARGE OF ASSAULT.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Coromandel, Tuesday. At the Police Court this morning, John Baxter was charged with an aggravated assault upon James Sweeney, and Leedham Whitehead was similarly charged with respect to John Sween -. Mr. Darnell appeared for Baxter, and Whitehead was unrepresented. The police applied for a remand of eight days, which was granted. Bail was allowed, accused in £25. and one surety of £25. Mr. J. B. Eockliffe was the presiding justice.
