RAID BY THE FOLICE.
THIRTY-THREE MEN ARRESTED. • ' [BY TELEGEAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.]' Dcnedin, Monday. The police last night raided premises in Walker-street believed to be used for Chinese gambling purposes, and arrested 33 men. A game of fan-tan was in progress at the time, and considerable money was being staked. At the Police Court Mr. Sim, for the defence, intimated that the prisoners were prepared to be dealt with by a jury, and a remand was granted till Wednesday. A sum of £300 6s 6d was found about the Chinese when searched.
