The Daily Chronicle's Dublin correspondent learns on the authority of a member of the Government, that the general election will be held in the autumn on the question of a proposed enormous extension of local government in Ireland by the establishment of a Legislative Council to sit in Dublin, consisting of representatives of the county councils, to deal with non-Imperial subjects. Mr. Chamberlain supported the proposal.
