.Dr. King leaves for Wellington to-day to attend the sittings of the Imperial Pensions Board, of which lie is a member.
1 Mr. J. Chisholm, who had been on the staff of the Bank of New Zealand, at Feeding, for some time, has been transferred to Palmerston.
Mr. Russell, general manager of the North British Insurance Company, and Mr. W. F. Hari;op, district manager, are on a visit to the Waihi district. Captain Hansford Ward, of Port Adelaide, has died,;aged' .85. Deceased arrived in South Australia in 1839, and was engaged in the coastal trade for many years.
Mr, Russell,, a lieutenant in the Northamptonshire 'Regiment; youngest son of Sir William Russell, is coming to New Zealand' fronTSouth Africa oh leave. Mr. Russell .will reach Wellington by the Tongariro in about a fortnight. .„
I understand (writes our Wailii correspondent), that the Premier has asked for a photo, of young Mellor (13. years old), who won a solo championship at the recent bands' contest. He is having his photo, specially taken for the purpose.
