PROCESSIONISTS IMPRISONED. By Telegraph.—Press Association.— London, March 4. The Lambeth Magistrate sentenced nine collectors walking with an unemployed procession to one day's imprisonment on charges of streetbegging, and threatened them with a month's imprisonment if again convicted. Mr. Ritchie, the Home Secretary, has promised an inquiry with reference to the Unemployed Conference's request for the appointment of a Minister for Commerce and Industry.
