TEACHERS AND CIVILSERVICE EXAMINATIONS.
[BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Thursday. The Education Department has fixed October 31 next as the date for receiving applications from candidates for the teachers' and Civil Service examinations next year, to be held in January as usual. It is provided, however, that an application may be received up till November 15 if accompanied by a special late fee of £1. Those who have obtained a " partial pass" will be required to give notice equally with other candidates. It is stipulated in regard to teachers that any certificates on which a candidate relies for exemption from examination in drawing must be sent to the Department before , October 31, oi as soon after as possible, for inspection and record. The candidate must; not be absent from the examination in draw-' ing without the express permission of the Department. i
