The newspaper Engineering states that a report prepared by the Standards' Committee, expresses the hope that the British standard sections will come into operation within twelve months. It is estimated that the reduction in the cost of structural steel alone , will amount to £750,000 per annum. A series of sectional standards is being issued approximating closely to those used by foreign competitors, So that makers readjusting machinery ; will; be enabled to stock material, including that for bridge building and locomotives, and thus prevent otderS going abroad.
