The Registrar-General publishes tli6 returns in connection with the general election, showing that there were 415,789 persons on the rolls out of a total adult population of 129,385, or 96.83 per cent.a slight increase as com-' pared with the previous election. ' The number of voters was 318,859. or 76.69 per cent, of those on the rolls. The men on. the rolls numbered , £29,845, or 37.5 short of the full number of adult males in the colony. Of mis number 180,294- voted, or 78.44 per cent. he percentage of. women on the rolls who voted wis slightly smaller than at the previous election, • and Was 74.52 Per cent.
