ODDFELLOWS' PREMIER PICNIC.
The annual outing of the M.U. Oddfellows will take place to-morrow at Motutapu, and the mo3t elaborate arrangements have been made to ensura that everything will go through without a hitch. These outings are looked forward to with interest, because the opportunity is afforded to friends residing in many of the country districts to meet their friends from town. The Manchester Unity Oddfellows' Society is one of ' the wealthiest in the world, and the Auckland district is in a very healthy financial condition. The total value of tho funds of the order is over £1.1,000,000, while the Auckland district fund exceeds £57,000. From the profits of one of the picnics tho society have endowed three cots in the Auckland children's hospital, while all tho profits arc devoted to worthy objects. There is a large programme of sports, so' that lovers of athletics should have some good sport. The opportunities for quiet enjoyment and family reunions are also considered, and there seems no doubt that the 1903 celebration will quite rival _ all its predecessors.
