LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.

The Government having decided to take the Flaxbourne Estate, the well-known Marlborough property, for land for settlement, formal notice to that effect appears in tonight's Gazette. The classification is set out as follows :—First-class, 5000 acres; secondclass, 23,000; Ihird-class, 28,155.
