OLD ACE PENSIONS.

*. The investigating Magistrate for old age pensions, Auckland district, Mr. Brabant, held a sitting of the Court yesterday. A list of over 25 cases was dealt with. The daputy-registrar appeared for the Government. New claims and renewals were disposed of its under: Full awards were authorised for £13 to Neil McCreahan, Catherine Kingham, Ellen Sakey, Helen Stancliffe, Catherine Byrnes, Sarah Ann Postlewaight, William Byrne, Maria Bayes, Adolphus Harry Latimore, Hindbara Browning, Hugh Calder. Reduced pensions were also sanctioned to Robert Nelson (£l3) and Thomas Beaoh (£9). A few were rejected and others postponed. The S.M. had a Masterron rase of transfer to Auckland brought before him, and which proved that it would be necessary to cancel the pension certificate. This the Magistrate did, and intimated that he would report bis finding to the Registrar of Pensions. In another allegation against a Hamilton recipient in depriving himself of property, the Bench held it was against the provisions of trie principal Aot, and intimated a similar course of procedure. The third investigation related to a pensioner, awarded £17, in the Heleusville district, and after evidence, and the representations of Mr. King, Mr. Brabant concluded to see the supervising valuer respecting property entries before giving his decision. At the rising of the Court, an adjournment was ordered until Wednesday, October-1.
