Last week the natives harpooned- a large whale, near Tekaha, but unfortunately the iron drew out, and what would have been a very welcome source of revenue went off again into the deep. Maize plucking is now in full swing on the East Coast, most of the cribs being half full. The crop at Eaukokore this year is a very heavy one. Vary little of the new crop, has,yet K. -. »a#j.ed.
