COROMANDEL COUNTY COUNCIL.
[by telegraph.— CORRESPONDENT.] CoROMANDEL, Monday. A special meeting of the Coromandel County Council was held to-day. Present: Messrs. McEwan (chairman), Swindley, Harrison, James, Horn, and O'Brien. The business was to confirm the special resolution altering the boundaries of the ridings, to take effect as from the noxt election. The matter was adjourned to the next sitting of the Council. The ordinary meeting of the Council was also held. It was resolved that the tender of H. Hoy, for contract. No. 78, WhitiangaKaimarama Road, be accepted. The Northern Steamship Company offered the use of their launch Little George for shallows, etc., in the Waiwawa River creek. It was decided to thank them for the offer. A letter was received from Mr. S. S. Matthews re making a road to the Macaronio mine, Matamataharakcke. It was resolved that the Minister for Mines be asked to reply to the letter. Tiki-Tokouma Road The Chairman proposed, and Mr. Horn seconded, "That Mr. John Lynch be allowed £115 as full compensation for the road taken in accordance with the recommendation of the county chairman and solicitor, to whom the whole matter had been referred." It was resolved that the Council strongly recommend to the Minister for Mines the desirability of assisting the Kapauga Gold Mining Company to tho extent of £ for £ for the purpose of enabling them to explore the deep levels of that milieu
