In the case of Gordon Courts, artist, of Melbourne, remanded to Melbourne on an extradition warrant on a charge of failing to provide for his wife as ordered by the Bench at Fitzroy, a rule nisi for habeas corpus was made by the Chief Justice this morning, on the ground that he is charged with an offence unknown to the law of Victoria or New Zealand. A rule nisi Was made, returnable on Monday if the Crown consents.
