LADIES' GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP
The Ladies' Golf Club championship was continued yesterday. The weather was very unfavourable, but the scores were not so bad as might have been expected. The matches for the championship resulted: —Mrs. W. R. Bloomfield teat Miss Margaret Richmond, five up and three to play; Miss Gillies beat Miss Ware, five up and three to play ; Miss J. Draper beat Miss Morrison, six up and five to play. Mrs. Keals and Miss liarstow did not play their match, The approaching and putting competition was postponed on account of the weather, and will take place to-morrow afternoon, the handicap match being fixed for to-morrow morning. Today Mrs. W. R. Bloomfield and Miss Gillies play in the semi-final for the championship. Mrs. Peel has given Miss J. Draper a bye. Foursomes will l« played in the afternoon if the weather is favourable. PING-PONG. The players of ping-pong at Karangahake have formed a club, with a numerous membership. They have secured the comfortable Public Hall for Thursday evenings during the winter months, and an interesting Reason is expected. .
