ENTERTAINMENTS AND MEETINGS.
DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY.
Mb. Dii meets the demand of theatregoers by continually introducing new performers. To an already strongs company of artists were added last Saturday Mr. James Harvey and Miss Madge Morris, whose varied and entertaining items are meeting with the heartiest approval Another recent addition is Miss Beryl Gillman, whose pleasing singing is greatly admired. On Saturday next will appear, after a successful visit to America, Miss Prisoilla Verne, who will introduce several of the latest vaudeville items from the chief American cities. On the following Monday the juvenile Dartos, two remarkably clever young performers, who made an immense hit in Sir. J. C. Williamson's last pantomime, "Alice in Wonderland," will appear for the first time in Auckland. ST. MATTHEW'S CLUBS. A meeting was held on Monday evening in St. Matthew's schoolroom, the Rev. W. E. Gillaui in the chair, for the purpose of forming a men's club. It was finally decided to form two clubs, one for lads 1+ to 18 years of age, and one for all over 18 years of age. A committee was formed, to inspect the present gymnastic apparatus and to suggest what things should be purchased. Various gifts of games were promised in the room. A committee of management will be elected at the next meeting.
