THE iNDRADEVI. ; ';"„ . The Tyser liner Indradevi, Captain T. Trotter, arrived from Now .York ana Australia at 11 a.m. yesterday, ana was visited and inspected by Dr K. w". Buarman. the port health ofticer. ' Owing to there having been an outbreak of smallpox on board of the steamer during the voyage from New York to Melbourne, the lndraUevi has been ordered into quarantine at Motulhi for Id days, and will go down and take tip an anchorage off tho island this morning. The Indradevi left New York on February 9, and called at St. Vincent tor coal on the 21st. resuming the voyage the next day. Melbourne was reached on April 2, and there being three causes oi smallpox of a mild form amonsst the crew. the steamer was quarantined, anil the cargo. utter fumigation, was transhipped into lighters. The Indradevi left Melbourne on the lltb, and arrived at Sydney on the 13th, whore she was again quarantined and fumigated, and on discharge of cargo left for Auckland on Tuesday last, meeting with strong easterly weather on the passage across until arrival as above. Messrs. T. and S. Motrin, Limited, are the inward agents for the steamer, which on discharge takes in general cargo for London. Messrs. Heather. Roberton, and Co- being tho outward agents.

THE ELINGAMITE. The Huddart-Pariw steamer Elingamite, Captain W, J. Wyllie. arrived from Sydney at 4.15" p.m. yesterday, and anchored in the stream for medical inspection and fumigation. Dr. E. W. Shaman, the port health officer, visited the steamer shortly after arrival, and after the usual inspection the passengers were permitted to disembark, the steamer remaining in the stream for fumigation, and will berth at the wharf at daylight this morning to discharge cargo. The Elingamite met with very rough weather throughout the passage, a succession of head gales and seas prevailing, but an average of 10 knots per hour was maintained, which maybe regarded as very satisfactory under the unfavourable circumstances For the past two months the Elingamite has been laid up in Melbourne undergoing a thorough overhaul In all departments. The hull has been chipped, cleaiod, and painted, inside and outSide. The passenger accommodation, both in the saloon and steerage, has received special attention, the cabins having been cleaned and painted, the upholstering renewed, and new wash-stands, etc., titled up. All the woodwork in and around the dining saloon and social hall has been re-polished, anil now presents quite an attractive ami pleasing appearance. The engines and boilers have also received a complete renovation and overhaul. under the superintendence of Mr. Honncrdale, the chief engineer, and everything is now in first-class order in this department. All Die lavatory arrangements liave been renewed, and are of the latest improved style. Of the passage across. Mr. Chambers, the purser, reports: The Elingamite left Sydney Wharf at 1 p.m., and cleared Port Jackson Heads at 1.45 pm. on Wednesday last; passed the Three Kings at 3.20 p.m., and rounded the North Cape at 0.43 p.m. on .Sunday, arriving as above. Moderate easterly winds and seas prevailed until Thursday, when a strong gale with very high seas was encountered, lasting until arrival. The Klingaraite is timed to leave for East Coast and Southern ports at 3 p.m. to-day.

THE KTXCLUNE. Tho iron barque Kinclnne, which has been chartered by Messrs. H. C. Gillespie and Sons to load kauri gum at this port, arrived from Lyttelton late on Sunday night, anchoring in the stream. The barque, which is under the command of Captain Robertson, brings a cargo of grain and produce, and will berth at tho Queen-street Wharf this morning to discharge, and on completion will commence taking in her cargo for Now York. Of the passage the master reports that the Kinclune sailed from Lyttelton on Tuesday last, and met with Strong head winds for the first day. followed by light variable winds and seas to the Sort Cane, which was passed at noon on Saturday: tlu-roe strong easterly winds to arrival.
