(Received April 26, : 12.25 a.m.)

St. Petersburg, April 25. Documents found in the possession of Bolschannet, the murderer of M. Sipiaguiue, Minister of the Interior, shows that M. Pobiedonostzeff assassination was simultaneously intended.

it. Pobieclonostzcff is Procurator of the Holy Synod of Russia. He was tutor to the Tsar Alexander 111., and after the accession of Alexander was appointed to the office he now holds. His influence with his Imperial master increased, and he became his most intimate adviser. He also exercises a great influence over the present Tsar. M. Pobiodonostzeff is opposed to all liberal reforms, and holds the opinion that since men want to be governed, autocracy is the only raslly suitable form of government. His life has been more than once attempted.
