Mb., John Mabsh-jxl was a passenger to New Plymouth yesterday by the Eotoiti. Captain Thomas Chrisp was a passenger from Gisborne by the Moura yesterday. The Eight Rev. W. L. Williams, Bishop of Waiapu, was a passenger from Gisborne yesterday by the Moura. « Hie. Honor Mr. Justice Conolly arrives from Gisborne on Sunday morning, and will hold the usual sittings at the Supreme Court next week.

Mr. J. B. Stoney, who has been on a holiday visit to Auckland, was a passenger by the Rotoiti for New Plymouth yesterday, en route to Blenheim.

Mr. R. K. Simpson, of Marten, an old colonist, formerly sheep inspector lor Rangitikei, will leave by the Athenic on May 8, for a trip to the Old Country, from which he has been absent for over 40 years. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Simpson and a daughter.

A very pretty wedding took place at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre yesterday, the vicar (the Rev. G. A. Carver) officiating. This contracting parties were Miss Bedell, of Eden Terrace, and Mr. F. Lloyd Diddams, of Crammer Road. The bride looked charming in white silk, handsomely trimmed with point lace made by herself. The bridesmaids were her two sisters and Misses Zeka Iffwerson and Iris Brutton Kenderdine. The two former wore white nilk dresses and black picture hats, and carried exquite bouquets of scarlet flowers and autumn leaves, and the two little girls. white silk dresses, white picture hats, and carried baskets of similar flowers. The bride was given away by her brother-in-law (Mr. E. Iffwerson, at whose residence in Hamilton Road a reception was afterwards held). The presents were both numerous and costly. The happy pair left for their honeymoon amidst a shower of rice and good wishes. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at. St. Sepulchre's Church on Wednesday afternoon, the contracting parties being Miss Emma Preece, second daughter of the late Mr. Watham Preece (Land Purchase Commissioner), and Mr. Hilton N. Lysnar. fifth son of Mr. William Dear Lysnar, of Gisborne. The church was prettily decorated for the occasion by some of the. bride's friends, the service being a full choral one. Mr. Rice presided at the organ. The Rev. G. A. Carver was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her cousin. Mr. John Kenderdine, looked very pretty, and was becomingly attired in white silk, trimmed with satin ribbon and chiffon. She also carried a shower bouquet, and wore the customary wreath and veil, and was attended by her sister, Miss Fanny Preece, and Miss Kenderdine. The bridesmaids wore white silk, prettily trimmed with chiffon, with black picture hats. They carried crimson bouquets, which were beautifully made by Miss Madeline Thomas, and were much admired. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. G. H. Lysnar, of Gisborne, and Mr. H. Witchell. After the ceremony the bridal party and friends, numbering about 60, were driven to the residence of Mrs. Kenderdine (the bride's aunt), Manukau Road, Parnell. i where the usual festivities were indulged in. The bride's travelling costume was a navy blue coat and skirt, with p. stylish red toque. ,v- The bridegroom's present to the bride was a handsome gold brooch.
