MESSRS. ALFRED BUCKLAND AND SONS. Horses: On Friday last, at the Hayiaarket, we again had a full average entry, and prices were similar to late quotations. Many draught horses changed hands at prices between £28 and £42; lighter classes. £20 to £26; really good and quiet trap Horses, £18 to £25; common hacks and light harness sorts, £7 to £10; and ponies at lower values. Horse covers, lis to 16s, according to size and quality; gigs, £11 each. Hay and straw comes forward in very limited quantities, and sells at late quotations. Hides, Skins, Tallow, etc.: A full - catalogue on Tuesday last met a ready sale at late values. Best stout ox up to 6id; lighter, 4Jd to sid; cow, 33d to 4Jd; stag, 2Jd to 3d; calf, 3d to ttd lb. At Kemnera. on Thursday, dairy cows came forward in usual numbers. Prices for those at profit were from £5 to £7 10s. Store cattle, penned in average numbers, met with a ready sale. Dry cows sold from £2 10s to £4 ss; grown steers, up to £7. Fat and young calves, short of requirements, were better worth. Fresh dropped brought from Is to ss; medium, 8s to 14s: heavy, up to £2 9s; 50 sold. The beef pens were fairly well filled. Steers sold freely at from £1 Is to £1 4s 1001b; cows, unless young and of good quality, were no better worth. Prices -for steers were from £6 5s to £11 12s 6d; cows, £4 to £7 15s: 210 sold. There was a large muster of fat sheep, and prices were scarcely up to last week's quotations. Wethers brought from 10s to 14s; ewes. 3s to 12s 6d; 1700 sold. Store sheep, 6s to 9s; iambs. 3s 6d to ss; fat, 6s to 10s 6d; 200 sold. Pigs, penned in usual numbers, were at lower values. Horses: Horses continue in steady demand, more than average numbers being brought forward. There was a good muster at the Durham Yards on Friday. Competition was good, especially for heavy draughts, which wo quote at £23 to £42 10s, a waggon team of four making from £36 to £42 10s: medium draughts. £25 to £29 12s 6d; light harness horses. £9 15s to £17 12s 6d; hacks, .£5 15s to £12 12s 6d; weeds, £1 2s 6d to £2 10s. The hurdler and steeplechaser llufus realised £150. Cattle: At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday dairies and stores wore yarded ia barely average numbers. There was a full muster of beef, ox selling from 2Cs to 24s yer 1001b, cow, 17s to 20s. Fat steers realised from £6 17s 6d to £10 17s 6d; fat cows, £4 las to £9 ss. Two trucks of extra well-done cows from Waikato averaged £8 ss. Dairy cows sold from £4 10s to £7 12s 6rf; empty cows, £2 15s to £4 2s: calves, £1 2s 6d to £2 33.

Sheep: The Newmarket Yards were well filled on Tuesday, moat of the wethers being especially well fatted. Fat wethers sold from 12s 6d to 16s 9d for prime, other sorts, 7s 6d to lis 9d; fat ewes. 6s 6d to 12s; fat lambs, 6s 6d to 10s 9d; store lambs. Is 6d to 6s 3d; .store wethers, 6d 6d to 10s 9d; store ewes, 5s 6d to 7s 9d.

Pigs: Large number yarded, selling at last week's quotations. At Waiuku on Saturday there was a Rood muster of all classes. Dairy cows sold from £4 15s to .£7 15s; fat cows. £4 10s to £6 2s 6d. The advertised three and four year old steers sold from £5 5s to £7 15s. Empty cows, £2 10s to £3 12s 6d; calves. £1 5b to £2 Bs. At Tuakau on Wednesday there was a larger yarding than for many months, everything gelling well at late rates. Hides: Our floor was well filled on Tuesday, good prices being obtained.
